The system of acting developed by the actor/director Konstantin Stanislavsky guides the company’s classical work, using the techniques of psychological realism combined with his ground-breaking work on psycho-physical action. Company members, most of whom carry roles in both The Tempest and Richard III, have trained at such institutions as Carnegie Mellon School of Drama, NYU, RADA & LAMDA. Jason Alan Carvell directs The Tempest and Richard III. He was trained at the Carnegie Mellon School of Drama and the Moscow Arts Theater School and has appeared on stage at The Guthrie Theater, the Barbican Centre, London, The New York Public Theater, The New Victory Theater and LaMama ETC. The International Herald Tribune has called him “an incisive and dangerously intelligent artist who jackhammers to the often ignored depths of the role” for his performance as Klioshe in Gorky’s Lower Depths at the Moscow Arts Theater.
